How Ledger handles your data.

This Privacy Policy applies to users of Ledger (published as JobHuntAI), regardless of where they're located.

Ledger is designed to help people discover employment opportunities, search for jobs and related information, and generate application materials based on opportunities they choose.

Depending on where you live, additional privacy rights or protections may apply to you under local law. Where applicable, we provide those rights in accordance with the laws governing our processing of your personal information.

Ledger is a Flutter-based mobile and desktop application that communicates with our hosted backend.

The backend performs the principal service functions, including:

• Job and news searches
• Search-result processing and summarization
• AI-assisted application-material generation
• Account and profile management
• Usage-limit enforcement
• History and saved-result functionality

You don't need your own third-party API keys to use these features. Requests are processed through our backend and, where necessary, sent to the third-party service providers described below.

Account information

When you register, we collect your email address. We may require it to be verified before certain account functionality becomes available.

Profile information

If you choose to complete your profile, we may collect:

• Full name
• Phone number
• Location
• LinkedIn or portfolio URL
• Employment history
• Education
• Skills

This information is optional and is used to provide personalized features, including generating application materials for jobs you specifically select.

Job and search history

We may store information about jobs and news items shown to you, searches you perform, items you save or interact with, and related history needed to provide the app's history and personalization features — so we can avoid repeating content you've already seen and let you access your history in the app.

Usage information

We may collect usage counts and related service information, such as the number of AI-generated drafts or searches you've made, primarily to operate and enforce usage limits.

Alerts

If you configure optional alerts, we may store the information necessary to deliver them, such as a Slack webhook URL or a Telegram chat ID.

Device access information

Each device connected to your account may receive a unique access key. This lets multiple authorized devices access the same account without automatically signing out your other devices.

Technical information

Our servers may automatically record standard technical information: IP address, timestamps, request information, device or application information where available, and security and error information. We use this for service operation, debugging, security, fraud prevention, and abuse prevention.

Ledger doesn't currently process subscription payments through the application.

If paid subscriptions or other payment functionality are introduced in the future, this Privacy Policy will be updated to describe the relevant payment processing and third-party payment providers.

We use personal information where necessary to:

• Provide the services and features you request
• Return job and news results, and perform searches
• Generate summaries
• Generate CVs, cover letters, or other application materials for opportunities you specifically select
• Maintain your account, profile, and history
• Enforce applicable usage limits
• Send verification, account-access, and device-verification messages
• Deliver alerts that you configure
• Maintain security and prevent abuse
• Diagnose technical problems and improve the service

Some Ledger features use third-party artificial intelligence services.

When you request application materials, relevant profile information may be sent to our AI provider together with information about the specific job or opportunity you selected.

For ordinary search and summarization functions, relevant job, news, or search-query information may also be sent to the applicable third-party providers — including Groq and Anthropic, which power our AI processing.

We use these services to provide requested functionality and don't authorize them to use your information for purposes beyond those permitted by our agreements and their applicable terms.

We use third-party providers to operate parts of Ledger.

These third parties operate under their own privacy policies and terms. We don't control the privacy practices of independent third-party services.

Where privacy laws require a legal basis, we may rely on one or more of the following, depending on the circumstances:

• Performance of a contract — processing necessary to provide the services you request
• Consent — where you've given consent to a particular processing activity
• Legitimate interests — security, fraud prevention, service maintenance, and improvement, where not overridden by your rights
• Legal obligations — processing required by applicable law
• Other lawful bases recognized by applicable privacy legislation

Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it at any time, where permitted by law.

Ledger doesn't use traditional passwords for account access. Instead, access is provided through randomly generated access credentials or device keys — treat these as confidential authentication information and don't share them.

Ledger is intended for people seeking employment and isn't directed toward children.

The service isn't intended for anyone under 16 years of age, unless applicable law permits otherwise and the service expressly provides for such use.
